COVID-19 Protocols

New Safety Protocols at Shadow Ridge Dental in Omaha, NE

Our ability to reopen is only possible with strict adherence to the regulations set forth by the Nebraska Dental Association (NDA), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and other governing bodies. The health and wellness of our staff, patients, and families have always been and will continue to be our top priority. Now more than ever, we are strengthening our safety and infection control protocols to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

What to expect at your appointment?

Patients are to wash their hands before you leave your home.

Patients are encouraged to call upon arrival and wait in their vehicle or outside until notified to come in for their appointment.

Patients who are unable to call from their vehicle upon arrival will be asked to stand or sit at least 6 feet away from any other individuals present in the waiting room. These patients are urged to wear a face mask into the office if available during this time.

We have removed all magazines and toys from the waiting room and office area.

Only patients will be allowed into the office unless they are accompanying a young child or someone needing assistance. If your presence in the operatory is legally required, you will be asked to wear a mask and screened.

All patients will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entry into the office. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be available at the front desk.

Temperatures will be taken on all patients.

A health questionnaire will be given to all patients before being seated for your appointment.

New Plexiglass barriers will be present at the front desk.

If a patient presents with any symptoms of COVID-19, they will be asked to reschedule.

Please understand that during this time, we will not be able to see patients that arrive late for their appointments. We will be following strict sterilization processes for each and every patient and need to have enough time set aside to meet the highest sterilization standards and procedures.

Dental cleanings will be done following the NDA guidelines for minimizing risk of COVID-19 transmission during this time. That means that our hygienists will be following guidelines to reduce aerosol production as much as possible and they will be prioritizing the use of hand instrumentation during cleanings.

We understand that it has been difficult for our patients to have to schedule, reschedule, or change times of their appointments during mandated office closures. During this pandemic protocol, we are having to extend appointment times in a way that allows us to keep all parties involved safe and healthy. For this reason, it is extremely important that you keep your appointment, if possible, after confirming it. We look forward to providing excellent care to our patients. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation during these unprecedented times.
